For Sully.

In May 2023, my best friend and muse passed away unexpectedly as a result of a tragic accident while out hiking one of our favourite trails in Squamish. It has been impossibly difficult processing his passing, but I am so grateful for the incredible 9 years we had together. Prior to bringing Sully home in 2014, I had never set foot on a hiking trail or picked up a camera. To be completely honest, I was very unhappy with my life and struggled to find purpose.

But Sully helped me make sense of my life.

He gave me purpose.

He introduced me to the outdoors, and eventually introduced me to the world of photography, as I quickly realized that I was outgrowing taking photos of both him and the outdoors with my iPhone. When I went to purchase my first camera at the beginning of 2019, the employee at the camera store asked me what I wanted to take pictures of, to which I responded:

"I just want to take pictures of my dog."

And that's exactly what I did.

Sully got to see, and do, more than most dogs. I promised to give him the best life i possibly could, and did everything I could to keep that promise. But Sully also gave me the best life, as there is so much that I have experienced in his 9 years that would not have been possible without him.

Thanks to the combined help of Kate from Fir + Bark, dozens of friends & volunteers,

Advanced Drone Solutions BC, and Squamish Search and Rescue, I was able to bring Sully home on May 30, 2023.

15% from every shoot will be donated to Squamish SAR, in Sully's honour.
