Hi - I'm Arletta, and I prefer to stay behind the camera.

My passion for photography was sparked by my dogs, but fuelled by my love of the outdoors and the Pacific Northwest.

While I am based in Squamish, BC, I go wherever adventure takes me ⎯ and capture it all through my camera, while incorporating the PNW landscape.

I spend as much of my free time outside, exploring both new and old trails, with my dogs at my side. They are the reason behind my love for adventure and photography, and are my constant inspiration. Whether it's hiking, trail running, exploring backcountry roads, or chasing after my partner's mountain bike, we're always up for an adventure, getting our feet dirty, and capturing all the moments in between.

Meet the inspiration, the Beards:

Sully, the Wizard

My muse, and a true mutt. Mostly German Shepherd and Bouvier des Flandres, and was the most active 9-year old dog you ever met (honestly, I'm positive he was part mountain goat). He demanded affection and would scream at you if you didn't pay attention to him. Would seek out every body of water to jump in - the stinkier the better.

Sully passed away unexpectedly in May 2023, and while I did everything possible to ensure he had the best life possible, he also gave me the best life. I am forever grateful for the life of adventure he introduced me to.

Quest, the Crusty Crab

My heart dog, who grew a beard to fit in. She is a spunky 4-year old German Shepherd x Siberian Husky mix with the biggest, goofiest personality. Whether it's a low-key walk along our local river trail, or a 20km trail run, she's always up for adventure (and learned from the best, Sully).

She both challenges and inspires me, and always keeps me on my toes while making me laugh at her ridiculous facial expressions.

Dalton, my better half

The tech expert, third beard, and my 'unofficial' second shooter. He does the research on camera gear, is my videographer, and flyer of the drone. He is passionate about creating mountain biking content, and giving me minor heart attacks whenever I tag along to shoot his rides. He keeps me grounded, and helps me figure out camera settings when I've pushed the wrong button.

He is the best partner, and dog dad, and encourages me to think outside of the box and try new things with my photography.

What is Pacific Northquest?

quest

/kwest/ noun - a long or arduous search for something.

I have always said that I couldn't imagine calling anywhere but BC home, as I thrive beneath the evergreen trees and atop the mountain peaks. 'Pacific Northquest' is a blend of the Pacific Northwest we call home, and my dog's name (Quest).

It is a reminder to myself to never stop seeking out adventure.
